HANEY is a Los Angeles based ready-to-wear label launched in 2013 by former celebrity stylist and fashion editor, Mary Alice Haney. While studying at Parson's School of Design in Paris, Mary Alice began her career working for Harper’s Bazaar. She also earned an MFA from the American Film Institute.
While living in Los Angeles, Mary Alice Haney became the West Coast fashion editor at Allure, GQ and Marie Claire. She worked alongside legendary editors including Polly Mellen. As a successful fashion editor and stylist, Mary Alice was instrumental in styling a range of photo shoots collaborating with such talents as Mario Testino, Mark Seliger, Regan Camerion and Norman Jean Roy.
After leaving her position as an editor, Mary Alice began styling celebrity clients including Eva Mendes, Jennifer Lawrence and Reese Witherspoon. Her talents as an editor and stylist shaped Haney’s decision to launch a womenswear collection that cohesively blends casual glamour and high fashion. HANEY is designed with acute attention to tailoring in order to enhance classic silhouettes represented in each collection. The label’s design ethos is to redefine classic, yet feminine pieces created from high quality fabrics that exude a sense of confidence when worn. The collection is inspired, designed, made and shot in Los Angeles and the brand embodies the effortless glamour of the city.
